The Dad Game
Hi there! I'm John, and I became a dad 21 years ago, although sometimes it feels like it happened just last month. Connecting with people on a personal level wasn't ever my strongest skill set (okay, that's an understatement -- I kinda suck at it sometimes), and for a while, that kept me from connecting with my kids, too. Our interactions would start out great, but end in frustration, angst and tears -- and that was just me. But over the years, I discovered something awesome: My kids and I communicated better when we played board games together. Best of all, the benefits lasted after the games, too. That's really the heart of what you'll read here in The Dad Game -- musings and tips to help you build connections with your kids through family time spent playing the best board games from around the world!

Sponsored by the American Library Association, International Games Day brings together libraries, games and members of the community. The event includes all kinds of game events, ranging from board and card games to video games and roleplaying.
